About DR. AMBER

Amber Robins, MD, MBA is a board certified family physician, lifestyle medicine doctor, and the creator of “The Chronicles of Women in White Coats” book series. She also is a best-selling author, diversity equity and inclusion specialist, brand and business coach, physician journalist, co-founder of the Women in White Coats blog.

Dr. Robins graduated from University of Rochester School of Medicine for medical school and residency after completing her undergraduate degree at Xavier University of Louisiana. She also earned a Master in Business Administration from Louisiana State University-Shreveport.

Dr. Robins is one of the few in the country to complete a Health and Media fellowship at Georgetown University School of Medicine. She also has been active in various research studies that include gynecologic cancers, adolescent mothers, and minorities in medicine.
Additionally, Dr. Robins has written for various media platforms including the PBS NewsHour, HuffingtonPost, ABC News, BlackDoctor.org, KevinMD, The Journal for Minority Medical Students in her own column entitled “Diary of a Medical Student”, and 40z Rock Magazine. She has been the medical expert featured on PBS NewsHour and the local Rochester CBS News.

Dr. Robins has received many awards. She was honored as the Congressional Black Caucus/National Minority Quality Forum 2018 40 Under 40 Leaders in Minority Health and also 40 Under 40 for Xavier University of Louisiana. She also has held the position on the executive board for Society of Teachers of Family Medicine in the role of resident representative.

Throughout her journey, Dr. Robins’ goal is to motivate others to be their best and achieve their dreams. She aims to continue advocating for women in medicine, minorities in medicine, along with minority and women’s health.

Dr. Robins currently practices Family and Lifestyle Medicine at Rochester Regional Health.
